Noodling:
Wow. What a weekend.
Our Saturday morning started out early...younger munchkin and I went out JUNKING! I love me some Junking, and younger munchkin has inherited my fondness for rooting around through other peoples' piles of unwanted things for treasures. That kid...he is full of win and awesomeness! So is my bigger munchkin, but he will not get up at 7:30 on a Saturday morning for anything, especially not shopping.
Alas, people must have actually believed the weather report that there might be a drop or two of rain and decided to wait until next week. We saw lots of things, but besides a cool plant pot and a corduroy papasan we came home with, there wasn't much going on in yard sale land. Except all of the people I ran into! I saw three of my teachers from high school (one of whom has a son-in-law who works for the same law firm I do!), a neighbor of mine from when I was five (she used to babysit me, but we don't talk about that anymore since our children are the same age haha), and my friend Bob (and his mom), whom I've known and loved my entire life but see only in the most random of places (I got hired at a restaurant where he was working, at the Hard Rock Cafe in Philly, and now, apparently at yard sales). My munchkin's enjoyment of tolerance for Junking with me probably dropped a bit after the extended jabbering that took place.
In my travels, I went to Joan's again for asparagus and strawberries which were as wonderful as they were last week. The tomatoes were nommy, too!
When we got home, I found out about the Swedesboro Outdoor Living and Garden Show. Of course we had to go there, too! (Bigger munchkin...still sleeping!)(Did I mention that he is a teenager?)
I have admit I was surprised at all of things going on there! There was:
...a vermiculture exhibit! And, a nice lady there who brought a portion of her worm farm along to tell us all about how awesome composting is! She told us Uncle Jim's Worm Farm is her go-to source for information and the cute little wiggly guys.
...recycling! The worm lady had some cool recycling projects for the kids. Munchkin made a bird feeder and a nest helper from recycled water bottles, dryer lint, yarn, and hay. (Here they are, hanging.)
...lots of fresh produce from local farms! DanLynn Farms is about five minutes away from me, and they are certified organic (and have been for six years)! I checked, and you can visit their farm and purchase produce directly from them! They are also at the Collingswood Farmers' Market on Saturdays. I bought some Swiss chard...can't wait to eat that!

...plants! I finally picked up my basil plant, and I got oregano (a new herb for me to play with!), parsley, and some jalapeno pepper plants! I've never grown a jalapeno pepper plant before, but my younger son is really into spicy food so I figured I'd give his favorite pepper a shot.
...tree pruning trucks. Yep. That's munchkin dangling after he climbed all the way up there. For once I managed to restrain myself from repeating, "Be careful up there!!!" over and over again.
*whew*
We also did some golfing.
And took Fulton out for a walk.

*panting*
I need a nap before I go see the Yarn Harlot in Philly!!
Knitting:
Oh, sugar! I didn't get that pesky sock done. I did manage to try it on for the first time, though!
